The Torrance E. Bissell Bursary Fund provides a bursary grant to pay for the post-secondary education of children of active Order of Ministry personnel and Recognized Designated Lay Ministers for whom the minimum salary increment and the total household income does not exceed $70,000.

The expendable amount for each year is based on the interest earned in the previous year. The expendable amount for 2012 is $1,672. There will be up to three bursaries approved by the committee. The value of each would depend on the need expressed in the applications, but the total awarded will not exceed $1,672.

Application Forms and the Terms of Reference for applications to the Torrance E. Bissell Bursary Fund are attached below. The completed application and your recommendation should be sent to the attention of Susan Jones no later than September 4 2012. The Financial Assistance Committee will review applications at the September 28, 2012 meeting. There will be no acknowledgement of receipt of the application sent to the applicants, but all applicants will be told of the decisions reached by the committee at the September 28th meeting.
