Administration, Finance & Stewardship Ministry Team
This Team of Administration, Finance and Stewardship
(including Home Missions)
- Prints and distributes agenda and registration forms
for Presbytery meetings.
- inspects records of pastoral charges
- Prepares a budget and oversees Presbytery finances. Appoints an auditor.
- Arranges pulpit exchanges if Presbytery decides to do this.
- Visits retired clergy annually.
- Provides a welcome and information to new members of Presbytery.
- Reports on and encourages use of the United Church Observer.
- Arranges for book displays at Presbytery meetings
- Distributes B.C. Conference materials.
- Distributes remits etc. from the national church office.
- Chairperson is a member of the Presbytery Nominating Committee.
- Reviews and submits to Presbytery applications for approval of infrastructure grants.
- Requests and submits to the Corresponding Secretary biographies for delegates to General Council.
- Promotes stewardship.
- Visits grant-receiving charges to help them determine need.
- Presents requests for Home Mission funds for Presbytery approval
- Submits these requests to B.C. Conference Home Missions Committee.
- Receives and processes requests for other United Church funds (e.g. ministers' moving cost, Investment in People Fund, Van Dusen Fund)
